A dirty Negroni: If I’m not drinking wine, I spring for a Negroni. The other night I discovered that a splash of olive brine ties the whole glass together. It’s basically a dirty martini’s more carefree sister. A big jar of Frankie’s olives take up space in my fridge for moments like these. They’re the best snack and the brine is so elegant. Has anyone ever called a brine elegant?
Using a cloth napkin to eat dinner on the couch: It turns a sad bowl of slop into a real meal. I bought a set of Madras napkins in the Berkshires in the dead of winter (okay, it was March) to brighten up mealtimes. More on my love for linens here.
Quiche: The arrival of the frozen quiches meant one thing in my house growing up—company was coming. Broccoli cheddar, spinach & feta, bacon & gruyere. I gobbled up a slice of each at the table with my grandparents who would visit us each summer around my birthday. I’m catering a brunch for my meal prep clients and wanted to give a quiche a shot before the big day so loosely followed this recipe. With a frozen pie shell and determination, anything can be a quiche.
My living room on a Sunday night: I spent this past Sunday soaking up the sunlight that begins drenches my living room at 4:30. After a weekend of running errands in the heat, a book, a drink, and a seat at the window were all I needed to chill (after my very chill weekend off from work).

The Grüner Leader: It’s exactly what you think it is—a liter of Grüner. Perfect party wine if you ask me.
